Government vs Boko Haram

It's not a mystery, dream, mirage or fantasy it is real and true, Osama Bin Laden is dead. Great isn't it. The tragedy of September 11,2001 has been laid to rest with the final elimination of the mastermind and Chief terrorist of the 21st Century - Osama Bin Laden, who since 2001, became a terrible brand antagonizing the West.

From his Jihadist jibes and proud assertions that America will collapse and her allies too, the story has changed and the justification of the George Bush led Invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan have come to full light and manifestation. In all this it was clear that America is not a naïve nation that will be intimidated by terror, and despite the differences in views of the Republicans and the Democratic leaders, one thing was certain that America was not going to relax and watch terrorism thrive in their shores.

In December 24,2009 what I would describe as a divine intervention took place in the United States when Nigerian born Umar Mutallab failed in his plot to blow a US passenger airliner, which would have been another terrible terrorist inspired attack on Americans since 2001 and I believe would have endangered Nigeria's foreign relations with the United States.

When President Obama gave his inaugural speech, his emphasis on the fact that his administration will continue to tackle terrorism, made me believe that America has a leadership with a collective interest of Standing for The Nation in the midst of challenging times .

For two years now most people I have talked with say Obama is more of a talkative than a performer, but the recent killing of Osama Bin Laden showed that the Obama administration means real business and is not here for jokes or gallivanting.

One thing to Observe about the Success in the assault that claimed the life of a Man that gave himself for evil, was the willingness of President Obama to be open to ideas and strategies in Military operations from Past Leaders Like President George Bush(Jnr),and President Bill Clinton, including former Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Mr Colin Powell.

This will not be the time to say that President Obama is the Hero, but he must be given credit for giving leadership that inspired the Successful operation. It was a collective victory of the American Leadership From Former President Bush and other Past American Leaders and Generals who have been involved in strategizing ways of bringing to book the man that created enough tension in the World by dedicating himself to raising terrorists World wide.

Commendation must also go to British Leaders like Former Prime Minister Tony Blair who supported the Bush aggression and operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now the whole drama and episodes that have encapsulated the American War on Terrorism has hit a major milestone with the destabilization of the Al-Qaeda group operations, as it is on record that he was killed by American Forces who he lived to taunt and make mockery of.

There had been a lot of Criticisms on the Bush Administration for leading America into an Aggressive foreign policy especially on perceived terror Nations and Groups, but President Obama's wisdom of not completely discarding it but sustaining tempo and war on terror has paid off a great deal with the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

Eventhough President Obama has the ideal of pursuing a peaceful foreign policy even with perceived enemies like Iran, his understanding that most terror groups like Al-Qaeda and Hamas are deadly enemies of America enabled him to enforce a Brave and Bold Approach to tackling any incidence or build of terror and Attack on America.

Quoting from President George W. Bush's Statement when President Obama called him to inform that Osama Bin Laden had been killed, these key words were very emphatic"The Fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message:No matter how long it takes Justice will be done'.

The Collective resolve of the American Leadership since September 11,2001 must be something that dazed and amazed Osama Bin Laden and his Al-Qaeda group because it was believed that a devastating terror attack like that should have neutralized the American Government's determination to combat and tackle perpetrators of Terror.

Several years ago I watched a documentary on the Jihadist notion, strategy and antics of Osama Bin Laden, also revealing how he initiated lots of young people into terrorism and violence against America, Israel and other Allies like Great Britain. Using hate words and utterances orientating the people with evil feelings towards the West.

There are two great lessons to learn from this recent development; First is that the greatest strength of a nation, in the midst of crisis and challenges is the ability for its leaders to bury their political and ideological differences and collectively tackle whatever is posing as an external threat like terrorism to a logical conclusion.

The unity in diversity of Americans in tackling and fighting its common enemies without compromise shows that if other nations embrace this approach in leadership, the ability of Nations to achieve goals and accomplish various tasks will be feasible as we see in the American resolve and eventual elimination of their profound enemies led by 'Osama Bin Laden'.

In respect to the spate of bomblasts orchestrated by the' Boko Haram' Islamic Sect and Militia Group in Maidugri and Abuja. President Goodluck Jonathan and his Security Advisers should not compromise their stance in ensuring that the ring leaders of this Group are caught, arrested and brought to book.

No amount of negotiations in my own opinion will resolve the dastardly acts of this group, they have shown that violence against the west is their motto, so if President Obama did not negotiate with Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, why should Mr President Negotiate with people who have retrogressive plans for a nation that wants to make progress.
